FACE A, FACE B (2002)
In 1978, my brother Manuel who had just arrived from Cuba, wrote lyrics to a song, and synchronized them to a Russian tune. We sang it till we memorized it, recorded it, and sent it to my brother Abu Salam living in the USSR at that time.
COMING FORTH BY DAY (2012)
Those who have fully enjoyed their bodies cannot be submissive. And those who never have? Can they survive the slavery of solitude and impotent acceptance of what they can't change or embrace? This is the every day story of two women taking care of their sick man.

I really enjoyed Coming Forth by Day: a film that touches on many themes that interest me: the unpaid labor of care work, the beautiful and painful details of everyday life, everyday life in the face of mortality and shared vulnerability, ways the disabled and their caretakers can feel trapped...
