PELÍCULA DISPONIBLE EN FILMIN

En la madrugada del 8 de noviembre de 1930, el abogado parisino y cineasta amateur Fleury salía en busca de la luz adecuada para completar una filmación paisajística en torno al lago Le Thuit. Ese mismo día, el abogado fallece en extrañas circunstancias. "Tren de sombras" se compone de las filmaciones estivales registradas en Le Thuit (Alta Normandia) por el singular pionero del cine amateur originan una indagación poética y detectivesca entorno a la imagen cinematogràfica.

    A fascinating film for cinema nerds, reflecting on the origins of cinema and its deterioration over time. Guerín recreates the vibrant family films of a French family from the 1920s (now deteriorated beyond much recognition) with an antique camera, and then returns to the same sites of filming seventy years later. "Tren de sombras" appears a metaphor for cinema itself...

In the 1970's the Palestinian Revolution which was based in Lebanon, was fighting for the freedom of Palestine. In 1980 a young 18-year-old Palestinian fighter called Ibrahim Salameh left his family in Kuwait to join that revolution. Two years after joining the fighters in Lebanon, Ibrahim was shot while on duty leading to his paralysis, ending his dream of being part of the revolution.  Saken is a film about this fighter and his caretaker Walid. Walid, an Egyptian man who came to Jordan to find work, was unaware that his path would cross with Ibrahim’s, and that together they would experience one of the strongest bonds two human beings could share. Saken is a film about friendship and sacrifice, how some people’s destinies are linked and hard to be broken.
